The Walton County Sheriff’s Offic along with the Sheriff’s Office Posse has been working around the clock due to the significant rainfall which has caused flooding and road closures. County Road 30A in the area of Big Red Fish Lake has severe road damage (photos below). The piping under the ground that regulates the water flow on the north and south side are failing. County crews are working to help alleviate the water from further cresting over this portion of 30A.
The last quarter mile of North Bishop is closed to traffic. Some homes in the residential area are taking on water as cars were driving through. Please avoid this area.
Additionally, the bridge on Indian Creek Ranch Road is washing out at each end of the bridge. On the south end of the bridge the watger has lifted up part of the guard rail and bridge. Barricades have been set up and we are asking the public to not remove the barricades. It is important that all barricades must stay in place as this is a public safety issue.
More information will be released as it becomes available.
