The Walton County Sheriff’s Office and family members of “Helo” is continuing the search to find the person responsible for “Helo’s” death. Members of the Sheriff’s Office met with family members this morning whose dog was shot and killed in the Mossy Head area. On Wednesday, September 19th, horseback riders discovered the body of a dog in the woods near Richardson Road in Mossy Head. The dog was identified as a 2-year old Rottweiler named “Helo” who went missing from his home in Mossy Head on the morning of Thursday, September 12th. The Sheriff’s Office is tracking all leads at this time. “Helo” has over 6,500 followers on Facebook and one family member, Jessica Austin stated “The family wants to help as much as we can to help bring justice for Helo.” Over $12,000 has been offered as a reward by the Humane Society, ASPCA and through private donations.
