THE NATL WEATHER SVC IN TALLAHASSEE HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WARNING FOR:
THE FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR
THE CHOCTAWHATCHEE RIVER NEAR BRUCE (SR 20).
* UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE…OR UNTIL THE WARNING IS CANCELLED.
* AT 8:01 AM TUESDAY THE STAGE WAS 15.0 FEET.
* MODERATE FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND MODERATE FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 13.0 FEET.
* FORECAST…THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE RISING TO NEAR 15.7 FEET BY
FRIDAY EARLY AFTERNOON THEN BEGIN FALLING.
* IMPACT…AT 16.5 FEET…MAJOR FLOODING OCCURS ALONG THE EAST AND
WEST BANKS OF THE CHOCTAHATCHEE RIVER FROM NEAR THE CONFLUENCE WITH
HOLMES CREEK TO THE GULF OF MEXICO AFFECTING MANY HOMES AND FISHING

* FOR SOUTHEAST ALABAMA AND PORTIONS OF THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE AND
* WIDESPREAD RAINFALL TOTALS OF AN INCH ARE EXPECTED WITH
SCATTERED AMOUNTS AS HIGH AS 4 TO 6 INCHES.
* IN ADDITION TO THE POSSIBILITY FOR LIFE THREATENING WATER
RISES…ROAD WASHOUTS SHOULD BE A PRIMARY CONCERN TO MOTORISTS.
WITH SEVERAL ROADWAYS REPORTED WASHED OUT ACROSS THE AREA IT IS
ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT FOR MOTORISTS TO NOT DRIVE THROUGH STANDING
OR RUSHING WATER AS AUTOMOBILES MAY BECOME SUBMERGED OR CARRIED
South Walton damaged roads, Deputy Confirmed.
1.) County Highway 395 has standing water in several places
2.) County Highway 395 North at East PT Washington RD has about 6 inches of water over the road, but is still passable. Signs posted.
3.) Water running across Coochie RD before it opens up to the rock pit, but road is passible.
4.) Eve Circle at Eden Drive – entire road is under water.
5.) Lakeview Beach DR and Beach Drive are under approx. Pond is over roadway 12 inches of water passable drive slowly
6.) 300 Block of Lakeview Beach Dr. yard of the resident is under water and water is going into his house when traffic drives by. Road department is on the way to check in to this matter.
7.) Big Redfish Lake is flooded – Signs posted- citizen has reported soil eroding from under the pavement and washing out. Public Works is on the way with a sump pump.
8.) County Highway 30A at Big Redfish Lake – 30A is about 1/3 eroded, approx. 15ft deep, 40ft wide. Public Works in on scene.
9.) County Highway 30A from Highway 83 East Bound to 283 Grayton Corners –
11.) 100 Block of Spotted Dolphin Rd is 3 Ft. deep. Complaints have been made from several citizens that water is washing into their house when cars drive by.
12.) 100 Block of S Gulf DR – Residence has less than one foot of clearance before water will enter home.
13.) Intersection of Flounder St and Porpoise St caller advised the water was washing up to his house. Has road closed barriers on each side of the flooding about 4 ft deep.
14.) 191 Overlook Dr 1to 1 ½ ft on both sides of circle and in this yard. Barricades in place
15.) 138 Brown ST to the north is under water , only passable to trucks. A couple of houses are flooded at the end of the street.
16.) 10 Kingfish St a hole has developed near a water main and fire hydrant, the hole and the utilities have been submerged for the duration of the day. The hole begins at the edge of the road and appears to have undermined the road. The water draining into it has narrowed to a trickle
17.) Hillcrest Rd in Santa Rosa Beach, just behind Oyster Lake. Road is undermined and partially washed out. Public Works has a couple barriers out there.
18.) Spotted Dolphin Rd homes have had the electricity and water service turned off to these homes due to flooding.
North Walton damaged roads, Deputy confirmed.
1.) Bruce Creek Bridge is no longer underwater. But there is damage to the bridge. Signs are still posted.
2.) River Road – has water on the road until just prior to the boat ramp. Road is open , until about 50 yards from Boat ramp.
3.) Beethoven Drive is impassable for emergency traffic.
4.) McKinnon Bridge Rd- road is passable. No water over either bridge. Road department has placed caution signs up.
5.) Red Hill Rd and Sherwood Rd- road is passable and the Road Department has placed caution signs in roadway.
Freeport damaged roads, Deputy confirmed.
1.) Don Graff Road has water across it in three places due to the ditches over flowing, but still passable. Sign posted. Water across the road at 268 Don Graff 3 inches deep.
2.) County Road 3280 at Fluffy Landing RD – one place had a 20 ft mud puddle over ¼ of the road @07:11
3.) 12000 Block of County Highway 3280 has water off the roadway but water is up to the doorsteps of the houses.
4.) Steelfield Rd and Bunker Rd. has water over the roadway. Cars may not be able to pass certain areas. Road is okay it was drained yesterday but for about 100 yards near the 4000 block is under about 3 ft of water small vehicles will not get through.
5.) Big Cedar Road-water over the roadway and is beginning to go into the parking lot at the boat ramp park.
