DeFuniak Springs Woman Arrested for Burglary

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) arrested Amanda Norris, 19, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., for burglary.  She was arrested Feb. 20. 

The WCSO investigation began Feb. 20 after receiving an allegation from a local hospital referencing a burglary resulting in a loss of $50 from the hospital’s gift shop.

The WCSO investigation revealed that Norris took the key from her grandmother’s residence and entered the hospital gift shop Feb. 19 without authorization and stole $50 from the gift shop drawer.  Surveillance equipment was used during the investigation to identify Norris and corroborate information.  Deputies recovered the funds during the investigation. 

Norris was charged with one count of burglary, a third-degree felony; and one count of larceny, a second-degree misdemeanor.
