Steven Ryan Ritchie, 22, of 779213 Eric Drive, Bonaire, GA, was arrested and charged August 27th by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, leaving a scene of an accident with injuries, resisting arrest with violence and grand theft auto. Ritchie was driving a 1999 blue Jeep Wrangler which was reported stolen out of Miramar Beach. Upon contact, Ritchie rammed the jeep into a deputy’s patrol car, pinning the deputy inside the vehicle and causing injury to the deputy’s shoulder. Ritchie fled on foot but was apprehended nearly 5 hours later by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office are also charging Ritchie for Armed Burglary, Grand Theft of a Firearm and Grand Theft. On August 17th, Ritchie entered a residence in Santa Rosa Beach, by breaking a window to gain entry and deprived the victim of their personal belongings valued over $10,000.00 to include a Ruger pistol.
Ritchie was also arrested for an out of state fugitive warrant from Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia for Theft by Taking a Motor Vehicle.
Ritchie is currently in the Walton County Jail.
On September 22nd, 2011, the Coach store at the Silver Sands Outlet was burglarized and approximately $300K worth of purses were stolen. An improvised jamming device was utilized by the suspects to interrupt any alarms systems.
During the course of the investigation, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office developed a suspect named Fabian Fabian. Investigators interviewed Fabian and obtained additional suspect information. It was determined that 4 suspects were involved with the burglary. Fabian was arrested and admitted to creating the jamming device used in the burglary. Several purses from the Coach store were recovered from his residence in Miami, Florida.
On August 6th, 2013, a second arrest was made in connection to the burglary. 29 year old David Farias-Fadraga from Miami, Florida, was arrested and booked into the Walton County Jail on various charges related to the Silver Sands Outlet Coach store burglary. Farias-Fadraga was charged with Burglary of a Structure, Grand Theft 1st Degree, Impairment of a Communication System to further a Burglary and Criminal Mischief, Damage Exceeding $1,000. Farias-Fadraga is currently being held and the Walton County Department of Corrections on a $1,000,000 bond.
Yesterday, September 4th, 2013, Investigators with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office made a 3rd arrest in this case. 62 year old Jorge Cordero from Miami Beach, Florida, was arrested and booked into the Walton County Jail on various charges related to this burglary. Cordero was charged with Burglary of a Structure, Grand Theft 1st Degree, Impairment of a Communication System to further a Burglary and Criminal Mischief, Damage Exceeding $1,000. Cordero is currently being held at the Walton County Department of Corrections on a $1,000,000 bond.
Mason was adjudicated on 07/20/1993 for Sex Offense, Other State (Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse – Forcible Compulsion) in Delaware, PA. Mason’s new address is: 4030 County Rd Ste 1087 Defuniak Springs FL 32433. Mason’s (DOB 07/03/1961) is a white male, brown hair and green eyes, 5’09” and 170 lbs
There are currently 137 registered sex offenders/predators living in Walton County.

WCSO also encourages citizens to use the neighborhood search feature prior to signing up for alerts to identify registered sexual offenders and predators currently living in neighborhoods.
Sheriff Adkinson and key members of his staff will be available to meet with citizens in an informal setting at four locations during the month of September.
