Hiring Process:

Before appointment to any position with the Walton County Sheriff's Office, applicants must successfully complete multiple steps in the hiring process, which can take 4 - 8 weeks depending upon the position.

Civilian Support Opportunities:

While the primary function of the Sheriff's Office is law enforcement, some of the agency positions are staffed by civilian support personnel.  Qualifications for civilian support positions vary.  Please contact our office at (850) 892-8186 if you have any questions regarding qualifications for these positions.

  • CJSTC Certificate or Letter of Passing Score on State Exam
  • DD214, Member Copy 4
  • Any documents of name change (marriage certificate, name change decree, divorce decree)
