About Us

Walton County is located in the panhandle of Florida, stretching 1,037 square miles from the Alabama state line to the emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The county is bifurcated by the Choctawhatchee Bay and provides numerous opportunities for water sports. While the population of Walton County is relatively rural with 55,043 residents, more than two million people visit our pristine beaches annually. In order to protect the citizens and visitors of this county, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office employs 162 sworn law enforcement officers and 71 support members.

The mission of the Walton County Sheriff's Office is to provide our citizens and visitors the highest level of protection and services possible by providing professional law enforcement services to the community. We will provide professional, competent, and responsive services to our citizens and visitors.

Vision

Our vision is to continuously improve our human resources and technology services to meet and exceed professional accreditation standards and become a state and national models for other sheriff's offices. We will achieve this goal by working closely with all communities and by investing in higher standards for recruitment by providing continuous professional education and training for our members to improve our response and our ability to prevent crime.
