Fingerprinting

The Walton County Sheriff's Office provides fingerprinting service at no charge at the main office in DeFuniak Springs and the Santa Rosa Beach Substation. Citizens sometimes need to have their fingerprints taken for purposes of employment, license applications, expunging records, etc.

The hours for this service are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Appointments are not necessary. Because services must be completed by 4:30 p.m., please make sure you come in to our office by 4:00 p.m. There may be a slight waiting period during peak times.

We do not provide fingerprint cards so if be sure to bring the fingerprint card or form that the requesting agency issued to you. The person being fingerprinted must bring valid government issued photo identification. We do not keep these fingerprints on file. Therefore, you will be responsible for routing the fingerprint cards to the appropriate agencies.
Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records.
If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public-records request,do not send electronic mail to this entity.
Instead, contact this office by phone or in writing.
